Re: blackberry playbook support
Hi,
Yes you're right.
I'll have a look at this and see if it is possible to add AlpineQuest in Blackberry Market.
Best regards.

Re: blackberry playbook support
It is very easy to run Alpinequest on a Playbook.
I purchased the application direct from Alpinequest and used the official tools from blackberry to package it as a .bar file.
It runs very well and is the best application for accessing maps on the Playbook.
Alpinequest need to package it as a .bar file officially and will find many new customers on the Playbook.
It works with all the new versions of OS 2.x.
If Alpinequest need any more info or guidance please reply to this message and I will be in touch.
(Using guest id as I have not got my registered ID to hand.)
Thanks for an excellent piece of software.

Re: blackberry playbook support
Hi and thanks for this useful information.
I'll try to find some time to have a look at the BB SDK and officially create BAR files.
But it's good to know that users have the ability to use AlpineQuest right now using your explanation.
I'll let you know in this topic (I'll try to do it for the next version).
Thanks a lot again,
Best regards

AlpineQuest Team,
Sorry for the previous guest message, was not sure of my ID and ended up registering again.
If you reply to my e-mail on file on the Board I can send you all the information you need, very simple process.
Don't want to broadcast the info in this message without your permission until you understand the process involved and the end result.
Thanks for the great software.
KM

Re: blackberry playbook support
Any luck progressing an official Playbook version ?
I am spreading the word to other Playbook users but most would prefer to get an official version rather than create their own signed .bar file from the .apk.
Lots of Playbook users are still looking for the perfect Map app.
Check the likes of http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry ... rums-f242/ to see the potential demand.
Thanks in Advance

Re: blackberry playbook support
Hi again,
Yes, on the contrary of what I promised I didn't find any time to work on it for the previous version.
However I'm still very interested in supporting BB official, it's just a matter of time.
I'll let you know really soon, sorry about that.

Re: blackberry playbook support
This website quickly convert alpinequest to playbook format http://apk2bar.unker.net/ and just follow these instructions to load http://n4bb.com/side-load-android-apps- ... -playbook/ . I got an error message the first time I ran it but ignored it and have no problems since.

Re: blackberry playbook support
Thanks for this tips.
Have you been able to read the error message, or better, have you located the alpinequest logs file (located in the AlpineQuest folder, in the 'logs' sub-folder)?
We are very interested in removing all BB related errors...
Thanks a lot!

Re: blackberry playbook support
Version 1.4 converted for Playbook using the method detailed in my previous message and runs perfectly with no problems, issues or error messages.

Re: blackberry playbook support
Hi and thanks for the feedback!
I had a look at the blackberry SDK to create an official build, but I had problems running the BB emulator (I don't have any BB devices)...
But it's great to know that it's working fine.
Thanks again.
