How can I configure my local magnetic declination?
The compass doesn´t point to the true north.

				Hi,
The magnetic sensor in android devices has an automatic calibration process.
However you can help it by:
- Starting AlpineQuest and activate the orientation;
- Rolling your device few seconds on each 3 axis.
The sensor will then be able to detect the most magnetic direction and use it as the north.
Note that you can also rotate the map using the geolocation while moving (more precisely that the orientation), but it doesn't work while not moving.
Best regards

				Hi,
I have tried the android calibration process yet, but it detect the magnetic north direction that have a declination (-18º in my region) from the true north used in the maps.
In some apps you can set the magnetic declination to consider that problem.
I will try your orientation and some tests again.
Thanks.
Best regards.

Hum ok sorry for my misunderstanding.
So unfortunately it's not possible to change this in AlpineQuest right now, however I could add it in a new version (I have added it in the
suggested feature list).
Thanks for this report.
Best regards

				Hi,
Version 1.2.12 automatically compute the magnetic declination based on the GPS location (you need to get a location first).
Thanks for your post,
Best regards
