Ok, perhaps I'm just getting used to touch screens but it would be nice if we could zoom in/out using 2 fingers (pinch to zoom in, expand to zoom out.

Yes you're right, this feature is really missing and a lot of users are asking about it. It's even on the top of wanted features.
It hasn't been done yet because multi-touch is available only for Android 2.1 and more, whereas AlpineQuest is Android 1.5 compatible. So I have to find the best way to do it, but will do it!
