[closed] Track recording suggestions

AlpineQuest is almost perfect now.

Two small things I would like (and forgive me if I have already suggested this some months ago, which I may have)

1. Ability to pause track recording (if it exists, it is is so well hidden that I have not found it).
This would be useful when I want to record the track of a full day-long hiking tour in one track, but don't want to record all the funny jumping around of the GPS signal while I have my lunch in a restaurant.

2. Turn off the messages "...GPX file successfully saved".
I record at 1 fix/1 second, so they pop up very often. They are an unnecessary distraction especially when I take photographs with my Galaxy S while recording the track. And I don't need them for anything - after all, successfully saving is normal, that is what I expect anyway to happen in the background - so I would need a message only when there was a failure to save, not during normal operation.

Overall I am very happy with AlpineQuest. Just wish I would get time to go hiking more often!

Hi and thanks for this feedback.
Concerning your suggestions:
1. Ability to pause track recording (if it exists, it is is so well hidden that I have not found it).
In a way this is possible, but not so easy/accessible.
If you want to pause a track, simply close it as usual.
Then, to resume the recording of a saved track, long-click on it and select "Continue".
This will record a new Segment within the track. This allows you to get stats on the track (all segments added), or browse the track to get stats on each segment.
But I'll try to add a more clear "Pause/Resume" feature.
2. Turn off the messages "...GPX file successfully saved"
... after all, successfully saving is normal, that is what I expect anyway to happen in the background - so I would need a message only when there was a failure to save, not during normal operation
Yes I completely agree. I will turn it off for automatic savings. I'll also change the auto-save feature cause now tracks are saved to much often.

I'm currently working on the geolocation and tracker features which will be a lot improved over next versions.
Thanks again

Thank you! The Append method for tracks works fine as a substitute for pausing.
That is good enough for me until you get around to a real Pause function.

Glad to hear that you will turn off the notifications for automatic saving.

Looking forward to the next version and thank you for the great support.
