Is there any [automatic] way to create a series of waypoints with a given distance between them (for example, 100 m. between points) along one line (for example, along a road)? The option "manually" is not good, because there should be lots of waypoints.

If this is not possible now, maybe it makes sense to add such an option to the application?

My colleagues from the 4pda forum are very much interested.

No sorry right now it's not possible to do this automatically.
I can add this in the waiting list, but to be honest, this won't be a priority so based on how long is the list, I doubt it could be available within a few years...
So for users that really need this feature, I'd advice them to use a dedicated app for this.
