Using application with an external GPS

Nice application!

One problem though -
I run it on an older tablet with no GPS (or GPS chip is busted) and would like to use an external GPS,
however, couldn't find any information on the communication protocol the application supports,
baud rates, and how to set it up to work with the external positioning device (com port?).

Is it standard NMEA, 4800?

Please advise.

Hi,
You'll have to use a third party app like "Bluetooth GPS" that will handle communication with your external GPS, then forward the location inside your Android system.
From the app, you'll then be able to use those locations (set location source to "External source" in the real time location settings).

Is there a link to the app? It doesn't exist currently on the play store and the latest version of the app doesn't say External Source - it has Third Party App as the other option.

Really confusing

You can use an app like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... tooth_gnss
There are multiple of them, I'm not related to nether of them.

If you device is in English, then use the location source "Third party app.", the one with the description:
Uses locations provided by third party applications, for example when using an external GNSS receiver.
