Idea: Download specific corridors

I'm not sure how one could ever implement this, but perhaps, in addition to drawing certain rectangles,
also offer to download e.g., "The I-80 corridor, from San Francisco to Chicago".

I think this is in line with this other suggested feature: "Add ability to store online maps along a path, inside areas or around a point".
At least you'll have to manually draw the path along your corridor, then store along the path.

About downloading along a path.
Did that, almost 1500km. Over a period of two to three weeks.
Draw left and right off the gpx route parallel tracks. Divide in chuncks. Do a bit of downloading every day. No problemo. True, it would be a more precise corridor with more even chuncks if it was build in. But then what if the corridor is to narrow when there is a detour. Brouter would be such a good way to tackle that problem. Just a quess, since i have never used it. But that is what it is build for, improvising when offline while en route.
