Hi,

I am planning a long trip (800+ km).
I have a GPX track drawn out and not I want to download the mapfiles of the surrounding area. It works ... but: When I select a section the download starts immediately.
How do I work:
As I rotate the map to have the section I want to download in a "straight" line and thus draw a nice, long rectangle and select the map layers I want. I choose the zoom and start the download.
Once the download is done, I try to continue:
Rotate map again (it's being rotated back ... why? this make orientation hard), select the new are and so forth.

What I suggest:
Select the area and map layers you want to download,
click on a "add to batch" icon.
continue selecting ....
Once done, I like to be able to start running the prepared download batch.
Extra: Let the previous selected are show the rectangle to help the user a lot to see what area has been downloaded already.

Why?
Simply this would. Currently it's very hard to download continues long map sections as the user can not really see what parts have been downloaded. The red/green squares are not a big help here.
Also this would enable the user to prepare large chunks, start the download - let's say at night - and in the morning the complete 800+ km have been downloaded.

Hi Olaf,
Among the planned features with high priority is the ability to automatically download a map along a selected track.
This is exactly what you would need.
Also is the ability to download maps inside any drawn polygon or around points.
So I believe you're also waiting for all this now!
