Re: New beta
Hi Alex,
Yes right now this beta has only been released for some users that have the complete version.
I have been very slow to publish it because there have been a lot of technical changes (I changed the names of technical folders including where the maps are stored, so I wanted to be very careful on how the update process would work).
Right now a new beta version is ready, with a more important visible change (a new menu when you select a displayed item), so I'll stop releasing the current one (2.3.0 r7480) and start releasing the new one.
So you should have this new one in a few days.

Re: New beta
Very strange, but I still have not received another beta.
Re: New beta
Sorry. I've got it right now.
Re: New beta
Hi, Francois.
I got the beta, thanks a lot.
Can you comment on a few points?
• Placemarks are now restored after the map view is displayed in order to speed up the application startup
• Placemarks are now displayed independently per workspaces
• Added ability to display quadrant bearings - is it for navigation, that is, for movement on water?
• Built-in maps are now displayed in workspaces

Re: New beta
Hi Alex,
Now, first the map view is displayed without placemarks, then the app loads the placemarks and display them when they are loaded.
It make the map view appear faster when you start the app if you have a lot of displayed items.
This way you can have different displayed items in different workspaces.
Instead of a heading of "175°", the app will displayed "S 5° E"
Before, displayed placemarks (waypoints, routes, sets, etc) were loaded during the startup screen of the app.• Placemarks are now restored after the map view is displayed in order to speed up the application startup

When you create a new workspace, all displayed placemarks are removed. When you go back to the previous workspace, they are restored as before.• Placemarks are now displayed independently per workspaces

It's a new way to display direction. Go in the app settings, select "Bearing units" and "Quadrants".• Added ability to display quadrant bearings
Instead of a heading of "175°", the app will displayed "S 5° E"
When you create a new workspace, before it was empty of maps (only elevations maps), now builtin maps are added (OSM, Google, Bing, and USGS maps).• Built-in maps are now displayed in workspaces

Re: New beta
Understood, thank you very much.
Perhaps later I will have a small comment on the translation into Russian of the term quadrant bearings.

Re: New beta
Hi, François.
Is it possible to do something with the text size? Looks very small.-

Re: New beta
Alex, I think this is because the title text in the Russian translation is very long.
Would it be possible to find a smaller text or an abbreviation for that?

Re: New beta
Hi
I think this is unlikely. English terms are sometimes several characters shorter than Russian ones. I can't find the right abbreviations, and I don't have any.

Re: New beta
Hi.
Is it possible to make an additional item Settings here to select the buttons that are displayed on the screen?
It would be convenient to assign or change the necessary buttons.

Hi Alex,
Yes absolutely, that would be great.
I'm not sure I'll have time before the nexyt update, but it will be for the next one.

Re: New beta
As usual the time passes so quickly and I don't find the time to add everything planned...
So I add this suggestion in the waiting features list not to forget it.
