Control screen brightness by volume keys

When using the phone mounted on a bicycle handlebar screen brightness goes ussually way to high due to brightness sensor seeing mostly sky. So I started to turn it off when trying to save the battery and Im setting the brightness level manually to as low as possible but readable. It would be avesome to have the possibility to configure ...let say: 5 levels of brightness controlled by volume keys (im not using volume keys for zooming or nothing else)

Hi,
The volume buttons are already used to (optionally) control the map zoom, so right now unfortunately we don't plan to use them for something else.
However on all devices I've used you can quickly adjust the screen brightness from the system notification bar.
Alternatively:
- You may find dedicated applications that control the screen brightness with volume buttons;
- You can force a brightness value when you enter the application using the user setting "core.screen.brightness" (0-100), for example:
