Cannot open map+jpg

Hi and thanks for AlpineQuest. I have a problem to open map+jpg file in AQ.
AQ only offers to calibrate it.
The files are here (map+jpg) → https://send.firefox.com/download/aabd7 ... ESa9NZvLvA
Is there a way to check what the problem is?
Map file was made with OziExplorer 3.95.6 f for Windows.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Alex, thanks for the file.
I've checked it and the problem is that the file name has Cyrillic characters, and the .map file is not saved with the UTF-8 charset.
Unfortunately right now the application can only read ".map" files saved in UTF-8, or that only contain ASCII characters.

I renamed the files, removed Russian names inside and saved map file in UTF (with BOM and without BOM). It is still not working. The application offers calibration.
The new files are → https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4UXS/2HiP1okPa

The version with no BOM works fine for me.
Here is the version I used (with the original Russian picture name):
Кольский Залив.map.zip
(1.07 KiB) Downloaded 691 times
However the imported map is poorly calibrated, but this is another problem.

Hi and thanks for support.
I tested some versions

There is no problem if files are named both in Cyrilic or in English, everything is OK.

1.
ANSI, name of the jpg file in Cyrilic → does not work
ANSI, name of the jpg file not in Cyrilic (English or just figures) → works

2.
UTF-8 BOM, name of the jpg file in Cyrilic → does not work
UTF-8 BOM, name of the jpg file not in Cyrilic (English or just figures) → does not work

3.
UTF-8 no BOM, name of the jpg file in Cyrilic → works
UTF-8 no BOM, name of the jpg file not in Cyrilic (English or just figures) → works

So after my test I have found working:

ANSI and English name of the jpg file
UTF-8 no BOM and Cyrilic name of the jpg file
UTF-8 no BOM and English name of the jpg file

Yes I agree with you.
In addition:
2. UTF-8 BOM -> Both will work in next beta.
1. ANSI, name of the jpg file in Cyrilic -> No fix planned for now (Cyrilic characters must be used with UTF8 in .map files).
