Even though we are able to adjust the offset within an AQX file, it would be great if we could do it with our fingers live.

You should fix the map itself, and not the display...
And how do you know which is wrong and which one is correct?

Ah, but the overlay might be warped in different ways in different areas.
Indeed quite the case for this cadastral layer made by the government from a patchwork of different areas.
A whole new offset every kilometer or two!
In such cases one wants the ability to make minor adjustments without declaring anything in files regarding the entire map.

Indeed, so just let the user grab that topmost transparent layer and move it around a little, regardless.

I understand.
Unfortunately right now I have so little time that I need to focus on more global functions. This one requires quite some work for what seems to be just for one (or few), moreover incorrect, maps...
I keep this topic open for future, but I'm not sure I'll be able to work on it.

OK I made a dynamic offset updater shell script that runs on (my) Android (at least):
