AlpineQuest & OfflineMaps

Hi,
I’ve installed full version of AlpineQuest onto my Huawei P Smart android 8 phone.
As soon as I started on very basic stuff I got stuck.
I placed 2 place marks on the installed map of my local area.
I then wanted a route and distance between these placemarks, and I have been unable to do this. Firstly I cannot get the landmark menu from these placemarks to do this. I’m sure there must be other absolute beginners like myself who quickly get overwhelmed by this app before scuttling back to Google Maps.
I normally go to YouTube for more info but nothing on there has helped.
The AlpineQuest guides do not match what I get on my phone.
I need a very gentle intro to this app. which assumes minimum knowledge.

Hi and welcome.

First of all, AlpineQuest is an app for "Off-road" (as said in the app name). So don't expect a replacement for Google Navigation or something like this, it's not for use with cars. Please use Waze or Google Maps for getting routes between points.

If you still believe AlpineQuest is what you need, here is the online help on tracks (how to draw them manually or automatically between 2 locations):

For straight line distance, you can use the measure tool:

The problem I have is the menu I get up on my screen is different to the one in the help files.
These are the two screenshots, the first is the help file and the second mine.
I cannot get the “landmark” menu.

Yes the icons have changes in the recent versions, but "Path" is sill available.
