Sharing Online

I was reading in the post about suggested and finished features, and I see in the "finished" section, there is reference to this:

Share current location online (by Stefano) avail. in 1.4.16

I apologize if I've missed it, but I did a search on the website help pages and I cannot find an explanation of how to share my current location online with others. Could someone explain how this is done? Ideally, I'd like to be able to send my current location in real time (I realize this will need a cell service connection). Is this a reference to simply being able to export a track to something like Facebook? To me, that does not really seem like it would be "share current location," though, since one has to have a done track, saved, then exported, etc.

Hi,
Based on the release note of version 1.4.16, it seems that "Share current location online" refer to the fact of being able to share a location (current GPS location or any other location) via email, whatsapp or anything similar.
It doesn't refer to a "real-time" location sharing. :(

Real-time sharing is a recurring request, it's not available yet just because of a matter of priority. Development takes time so I need to prioritize...

Sorry about that
Best regards

Thank you for the clarification. I hope to see a real time option in the future. IMO this is simply one of the best apps out there and a real time option to share current location with other users would make this perfect, but regardless, I appreciate the staggering amount of time and effort you have put into this app.

Yes this is a very popular feature request.
I even had a discussion about this last weekend. What I don't like with this feature is that it requires active data network access, which drains battery very fast and which is at the complete opposite of the initial purpose of this application: make mapping application for offline use...
But I'll think about this again when I've time.
