Suggestion - Hatched lines on intersecting recorded tracks

I use alpine quest for MTB. A lot of trails I have ridden have merged with other trails that I have done.

It would be nice to have the option to select hatched lines which conform to the colour of the recorded track. E.g track A is couloured blue and merges with another track, track B for 1 mile which is coloured red therefore this section is represented by a red and blue hatched line if so desired. If a third track track is recorded which also joins on ( coloured yellow) the track would then be displayed as a repeating red / blue / yellow hatched line until each track split off.

A further option of specifying the hatched line length would be the cherry on the cake!

Maybe too much hassle but it would be a cool option to have.

Thanks

Stu

I should have pointed out that this suggestion would only apply at a certain zoom level when viewing recorded tracks as I understand that due to satellite accuracy the chances of 2 tracks appearing merged exactly the same are extremely slim.

Hi Stu and thanks for your interest in this application and feedback.

I completely understand your point and it makes complete sense, however as you've noticed yourself tracks never follows them exactly so finding the portions when two tracks overlap will requires a lot of efforts and computing using distance threshold or similar things... Right now, I unfortunately cannot see any quick way to do it.

However those points may help you to better visualize overlapping tracks:
- Choose a partially transparent color for your tracks, so overlapping parts will be displayed with additionned colors;
- Choose a hashed displayed style, so underneath tracks my also partially be visible: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... and_arrows.

Hope it helps,
