If you are refering to the blue "field of view" symbol, it shows you the compass direction that you are heading. You can turn it off in Settings, within the "Current heading display" menu.

This blue area shows the part of the map you're currently looking at.
It's explained here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/orientation
In the settings, you can choose another marker.
