Greetings, i would like to ask you whats the optimum settings for battery lifetime.Couple of weeks ago,i was in MT Olympus,and i recorded a track from the Shelter to the top and back which is about three hours trip.Battery after that was from 100% to 60-50%.Is there any suggestion to improve battery life and at the same time keep fairly good track ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
During my hikes in the Alps I usually use these settings:

Globally (phone level):
- Turn the phone in "Airplane" mode;
- Kill most background apps (using a task killer).

In AlpineQuest:
- Only use offline maps (no need to access Internet, no data write on SD);
- Set the Geolocation refresh rate to 1fix/10sec;
- Start to record a track, put AlpineQuest in background and turn off the screen.

I only turn on the phone punctually to check my way, optionally with the compass.
By doing that, I can record tracks during 2 days, usually one track/half day, to avoid large track files (HTC Desire).

Note that using the compass and sliding the map are very battery consuming.

This is my personal thought, surely not optimal.
Regards
