XYZ .zip does it work

Hello,
I've been using AlpineQuest for years now but have always used either older MemoryMap files or AQM files I generate from my own XYZ tiles. It can take quite a while using MAPC2MAPC to generate the AQM files, recently noticed that AplineQuest now supports both GeoPackage Raster files (.gpkg) and XYZ zipped (.zip). The later would save me loads of time, because I already regularly generate XYZ tiles and I would just need to zip them up.
Yet for some reason AlpineQuest doesn't show the .zip files when I browse my phone for maps. I'm not sure if its trying to read the files before it displays them and its not quite in the correct format. All I did is zip my existing XYZ tiles, so directly in the zip file are the folders 12, 13, 14, 15 and inside those they are as you would expect for XYZ format.
What am I doing wrong?
