Before routable maps I would create a cycle route with wps just around the corner of each junction.

My Garmin GPS has a full screen compass mode where it points to the next waypoint in the route. Making even off road routes easy to follow

Would this a feature that could be implemented?

Hi,
You an do that by creating a route. Then click on your route and select "Follow route". In the compass view, you'll have the next waypoint direction indicated by the green pointer.
I hope this is what you need.
