When adding map files, using Import or Add as layers, allowing selection of multiple files could speed things up.
(I'd mentioned this already in a discussion thread, then thought it should go under under suggestions.)

At the moment importing several (qct)map files is quite a tedious job, especially as I have to re-navigate to the same source folder every time!
A simple addition would be to allow selection of multiple qct files before choosing Import, eg by adding Select to file sub menu, and adding an Import Selected button.

Similarly, section of multiple files for Add as layers would also help to speed things up.

nb. The current version import sometimes stalls, should the device go to sleep. For multi file import, keep awake would be essential.

Yes multi selection of items (landmarks or maps) has been requested various time. This is planned, but right now I don't have any release date to give.
When available, adding those suggestions should be easy.

I don't exactly know why you want to have multiple maps displayed at the same time, but note that the app can automatically switch maps if needed: display a first map (leave the maps explorer on the same folder), and if you slide to place which is not covered by the current one but by another one, the map will display it instead.
