Hi,

I've been using AlpineQuest intermittently since December 2010 when I bought a copy using Paypal.

I recently bought a new phone running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, installed AlpineQuest 2.0.2, and activated it using my original e-mail address.

I then discovered that all my .aqm maps could not be found in my preferred folder on my SD card, but should instead be placed in SDcard\Android\data\psyberia.alpinequest.full\files\maps. However this did not work either.

But placing the maps in SDcard\Android\data\psyberia.alpinequest.free\files\maps did work. :D

Also I found that if I copy an updated map to this folder, where the new map has the identical name to the old map, then the new map will not display. However a new map created with a name which is not known to my copy of AlpineQuest will work fine. :o

So by experiment I have what I want, but you may want to investigate this behaviour.

Great app anyway.

Hi and thanks for your support,

New versions of Android have strict rules concerning write access on external SD cards, that's why the application now needs to store cached data in the particular folder you noted ("SDcard\Android\data\psyberia.alpinequest.full\files").

Nota that this is only for map data you store from online (on-demand) maps.
If you have .AQM maps, you still can put them anywhere on the SD card and then access them as explained here: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/m ... pplication, so you should still be able to use your "preferred folder on your SD card".

Concerning maps with two identical names, I'll check that, thanks for pointing this out.

Best regards

As an update, I've made a test with two maps with the same name (but different file names) in the some folder, and it's working fine.
Best regards
