Hi.
First, just wanted to say that I love using AlpineQuest, and have planned and walked 100s of miles using it over the last few years. I think that I only got lost once!
I have been using the updated interface for the last week, and think that it is generally an improvement.
However, there is one feature that I can no longer find. The ability to delete points from a recorded track. I found this very useful if I ever forget to turn off the track recorder when I get in the car and drive home after a walk, or if you walk into a canyon and the gps starts bouncing you around. Is is still possible to delete these points? Or if this has been removed, can I request that it be readded in a later version?
One other request that I think would make this app better, would be the ability to draw a route, and get the app to produce an elevation plot of the route. Either using the elevation information in the map file (if present) as Memory Map does (or did) or grabbing elevation data from the Web as http://www.gpsvisualizer does. This would be an amazing addition.
Either way. This is still the best app on my phone!
Thanks
Dave

Re: Edit points on recorded track
Hi and thanks a lot for your support!
You should still be able to edit the track points (be sure to use the last version, currently 2.0.1b). If it's a track you've just recorded, be sure to stop the track recorder (with "save & stop") to be able to edit the track. You can sill resume the track after that.
Various method are available (I'll also talk about a displayed track):
- Click on the precise location you want to delete, then on the location name, and on "Delete";
- Using the "Edit profile": click anywhere on the track, on it's name and on "Edit profile". You'll be able to delete location based on the elevation profile, speed, accuracy.
- Using the "Edit points": click anywhere on the track, on it's name and on "Edit points". You'll be able to click on any location to delete it, or move it to the map center (to replace it). You'll also be able to split the track is segments and delete segments (useful to delete lot of locations). You can also manage track waypoints from there (add, remove, rename, etc).
Concerning your second request (auto filling elevations), this is one of the top planned feature, so it should be available before summer.
Best regards

Great. Thanks. I don't know how I didn't spot the edit profile option. That is exactly what I needed. And the ability to split tracks is also very useful too.
Many thanks for the quick response.
Dave.

Hi,
It shouldn't have changed.
Could you upload a screenshot of the menu to check that you're looking at the correct location?
