When the menu is hidden, only the AQ icon remains visible, as with previous versions of AQ. If you drag the map, a GPS icon appears to signify that you are not locked on the GPS position, which is a good idea. However, that icon has no active function, which seems to be a missed opportunity to me. It would be nice if a long-press on it would re-centre on the GPS location. This would be consistent with the operation of the AQ icon, where a long-press activates the full icon set.
This would be especially useful when the re-lock GPS after 10s option is disabled (my preference).

This button should re-lock the GPS! (it's not just here to look good!)
And it does on my devices. Not on yours?

Ahhh, I see, it does lock with a double-tap, but NOT with a long-press. Long-press and double-tap have a slightly different effect on the AQ icon and the long-press effect is a more similar to how I would perceive that the GPS lock icon should work. It is an intuitive thing, but I think that enabling long-press (or even a single tap) for the GPS icon would still be a good idea. Double-taps are not always the easiest thing to get right, especially when stretching in the car, or when your hands are freezing.

Hi again Yemble,
It should work with a single tap only, sorry for not being more descriptive in my previous answer.
Do you have to double tap on your device to lock back the gps position?
Please let me know

Single tap is not working, at least not consistantly. That's why I originally thought that the icon was "dead". Double tap does appear to work consistantly, so maybe there is something odd happening to make the detection of a single tap a bit hit or miss, mainly miss. I'm seeing this on both my Galaxy S3 phone and my NotePro tablet.
