Hi
I have alpinequest on motog 3rd generation. I have had various minor problems recently. Things have just got much worse. I have downloaded a .gpx file onto my phone. A similar file I downloaded last year - and used successfully - is also stored. However when I go into my downloads, via explore landmarks, it says empty.
Why? What should I do? I tried both my old phone (motog 2nd generation) and uninstalling/reinstalling the app but got the same result both times.
Thank you.
PS I am not technically proficient.

Hi,
Import of GPX files is only available in the paid version, please check that you're using it.
Then, if you've copied your file via USB and your computer, it may take some time for the file to appear in your device.
You can also make an error report from the application so I can check if everything is fine.
Let me know

Thank you. Yes I am using the paid for version. I have this app on both my old and new smartphones.
Not only can I not find the newly downloaded GPx file, as provided by On Foot Holidays, but nor can I find the one I similarly downloaded and sUccessfully used 11months ago. In both cases the GPx file was an attachment to an email which I saved (ie I did not use a usb stick and my tablet). I am getting the message "empty" when trying to access downloads through explore landmarks.
I would greatly welcome the solution as I am about to go on a walking holiday, intending to use this GPx file.
Thank you

Here is an alternative method to try: if you have any android file manager installed (ie an app like "My Files"), open it and go to your downloads folder, then click on the GPX file. You should be able to select AlpineQuest in the app list able to read this kind of file (depending on your file manager this may not be available).
Note that on my device, I have 2 different folders for my downloads (depending on the app I use to download): on called "Download" and another one called "Downloads" (just to be sure it's not that).
Also, if you don't see any objection, can you send me the gpx file by email so I can check if it's error free? (contact[at]psyberia.net)
Finally, thanks for the error report, sorry for asking a lot but it would be great if you could send another one after opening the Landmarks explorer and browsing the Downloads folder (so I can check if there are errors while reading the file).

Right. I have loaded file manager. And the GPx files are not under sd card - download. Nor under internal storage. And The GPx file I downloaded last year is on my drive, not download. So the problem is clearly at the downloading stage. Though it is not clear why it's a problem this tear but not last year. I will email you the file. Thank you.
As the problem is with downloading, is there any point in sending another error report?

Thanks for the update.
I've successfully loaded the file in the app. The default emails app saved the file in my "Download/" folder, it was listed in the app and correctly displayed.
Here is an alternative method I usually use (which requires a PC): I put all the files I need to send to my device on a Dropbox folder. Then from the device using the Android Dropbox app, I click on the file and Dropbox lists all compatible apps. For GPX files, AlpineQuest is listed.
Edit: you're right, no need to make a new error report.

Done that but still no joy. It appears that others have had problems with GPx on moto G. I have submitted a query to their technical support. Sadly, I done expect to get this resolved in time to use the file this coming weekend. However thank you for your prompt and very helpful replies.

I've just emailed you a converted version of your file in AlpineQuest native format.
I hope you'll have more luck with this other format.
