AlpineQuest & OfflineMaps

I am trying to store an area of USGS topo with road layers. The topo downloads fine but the road layers create multiple errors: invalidhttpcode: 404 and socketTimeoutException also it takes forever for each tile. The phone is Galaxy S4 on my home wifi full signal.
Am I doing something wrong? I just purchased the app and been playing with it for a few hours without success.

The USGS servers are quite slow these days, that's why you get those errors (it's not due to your device or your wifi).
If you want to use this particular layer, you'll have to be patient, otherwise you can use various other similar layers.
