AlpineQuest & OfflineMaps

Hi,

First to say I just love AlpineQuest, its functionality is the best there is. I have tested is firstly in the City with some custom topographic maps, and it worked perfect. Then I took it to the woods, and suddenly there was a problem. AQ found between 5-7 satellites at any moment but it could not geo-locate me. All it said was: Waiting for a fix... and it stayed like that until my phone battery drained, i think for 10hrs. Several phone resets did not help.

I have updated my AQ version on March 20th just before trip.

Hi and thanks for your feedback.
You should check/reset your GPS using a toolbox app like "GPS Status" (free). If a similar problem happens again you can:
- Check that this other app also don't get your GPS location (meaning the problem doesn't come from AQ);
- Reset your GPS cache data using this other app and make a new cold GPS start.
Also, be sure that in the AlpineQuest GPS settings the selected location source is still "Outdoor GPS" (if you turn off the GPS from the Android settings, the app may switch to a network based location).
