When I try to take a Picture Waypoint I get the AlpineQuest box that says "Restoring Items" but no Picture Waypoint is created.

I click Picture Waypoint
Take Picture
Click OK
AplineQuest box that says 'Restoring Items"
defaults back to map without creating any Waypoint or Saving picture.

Hi,
I'm afraid your device isn't enough powerful to support picture waypoints.
What device do you have? Maybe you can try to restart your device in order to free memory.
Let me know

Its a Samsung S5 with a 128GB Micro SD. Picture Waypoints have always worked in the past. In fact I have dozens of them that I use regularly.

Ok so your device is definitely enough powerful!
Have you tried to restart your device?
Also, do you use any memory optimizer/cleaning app? It may be the issue, since your problem is that the app is closed while you're taking your picture with the Camera app...

I have restarted a few times but that hasnt worked reliably. I have not used a memory cleaner / optimizer but I would be willing. Is there one you recommend?

Hi again,
Sorry for the confusion, I wanted to say that a task manager could be the source of the problem, not the fix... Some task managers tend to overkill processes which may lead to such issues...

But to answer your question, I personally use ES's (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... askmanager).

Have you recently updated your system or the app?

Samsung did recently push an update that has made both our S5 phones act odd. Perhaps I should try to roll that update back?

Hi and sorry for the delay.
Concerning the update, it really depends on your general feeling about if it's working fine or not, I mean just not regarding this app... But I don't know if there is an easy way to roll back the update anyway.
Still about your picture waypoint issue, I must admit I have now idea right now why the main app is closed while the Camera application is running...

Are there any logs or something that I could check or submit?

Absolutely.
You can open the main app menu, select "More...", then "Report error". You can check the log file that will be submitted by clicking on the button right of it, and click "Ok" to submit it (you need Internet access for this).
I'll have a look at the log file and let you know.
