Hello Contact,
Yesterday I did a day hike. The real distance was about 15 kms, but the last 2.5 kms weren't recorded. The time when I stopped the location counter was correct and corresponded to the actual time. What could have happened to the last 2.5 kms?
The location tracker recorded 13,200 locations. Is this the limit? Can I increase it? There used to be a way to set a longer delay between location recordings, but now, I can't find that setting.
Thanks for your help.
Ketzie

Re: incomplete track
Hi,
There no particular limit to the number of recorded locations (actually the technical limit 2,147,483,647), but with large numbers like that memory issues can happen. But 13,200 is quite round and you're right it looks like a limit. I'll have a look at that.
However you should really reduce the amount of recorded locations, like you suggest, using the setting button (2) in the Location Tracker window (see here: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/1.4/tracker). It will not only reduce the battery usage, but only smooth the tracks and reduce GPS errors.
You can set the tracker to ignore locations if you haven't moved a certain distance (5m / 15ft is quite good). Also, for day long hikes, I usually record 1 location / 10 seconds.
Best regards
