Hi there.
I'm using AlpineQuest a lot for mountain biking. Recently Strava, a ride sharing platform, released its global heatmap (http://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#6/-120. ... /blue/bike). That heatmap contains tremendous amounts of data regarding mountain bike trails. Including many trails that have not yet been mapped. Would it be possible to include that as a map layer?
For now I have to screenshot sections of it and convert them to AQM to use it in AlpineQuest.
Thanks,
Kai

Re: Strava Global heatmap layer?
Hi and thanks for your suggestion.
I have added these layers in the app. Just click on the "Add new maps" button of the map list and select 'Stravia Heatmaps'.
I have only added the data layers, you can overlay them on any map you already have, so you don't need to cache an extra base map.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Best regards

Hi again,
It wasn't clear in my previous post but I have added these maps following your first post, so you wouldn't have found them there before
Thanks again for this suggestion

Re: Strava Global heatmap layer?
yes, that was not clear. I thought they were already there. Thanks for getting this done so quickly.
You'll also be happy to hear that I shared this with my MTB buddies on FB and one of them immediately bought your app. I'll spread the word even more. Especially now that I know that this addition was based on my request.
Trails on this heatmap are somewhat difficult to see when there are only a few dots for that trail. Would it be possible to create a black background option which would result in better contrast?

Re: Strava Global heatmap layer?
Thanks for your support!
I have updated this map configuration and added the default base map so you can get the same render than on the website. Just select any other map, go back on the community map list and get the map again to update it.
Note that you can also play with opacity, contrast and saturation of all layers to improve the result: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/1.4/maps/contrast.
