AlpineQuest & OfflineMaps

I am using the lite version so far and experience the following behavior:
When out in the mountains in a region for which no map data is stored on the phone so far, I'd like to access an online map. Although cell-phone coverage is good (EDGE), Alpine Quest is first "queuing" my map request. After some seconds it displays "you're offline." - which I am not (tried accessing other WWW content which worked).
Is this due to the lite version or is it a bug?

Hi and thanks for your interest in AlpineQuest.
One thing is sure is that it's not due to the Lite version.
AlpineQuest will not wait more than 10sec while attempting to get a map tile. If the download didn't start within this delay, then it's considered as "offline" and not available. However, as soon as you zoom in and out again, it will try another time to get it (the application is never in an "offline" mode).
So if your coverage is very bad and connection times very long, you can encounter this behavior. In this case, just zoom in and out to make a new attempt.
