[closed] Using AlpineQuest in China

Great program. However, when we use AlpineQuest in Yunnan, all of mapped locations are off-set from the true position by about 375 meters north by northwest. This is not the case when we use Android Maps. When hiking in the back-country, that difference is enough to direct you right off a cliff!

What is going on? Can it be fixed?

Hi and thanks for your feedback.
Concerning your issue about the map offset in China, this is unfortunately due Google map being compliant to China's laws ordering
to transform all maps of China (for security issues).
Note that the Google Satellite maps are correct (not transformed).
Right now, the only solution I can recommend is to use another map source, like:
- OpenStreetMap maps (all are correct);
- Microsoft Bing Maps (from the community map list).
I'll have a look if it's possible to do something to change this.
Sorry for the disagreement,
Best regards
