I'm trying a few GPS things at the moment, and having got the Lite AlpineQuest it's looking like one of the best for what I want; before I buy the full version there's a things I don't know if are quirks or if I'm just doing something wrong )
Geolocation: I have the location provider set to auto, but if it can't find satellites it doesn't seem to fall back to the network?
Searching locations: Is there any way of entering deg/min/sec coordinates without the degree symbol? My phone does not have it available to I have to carefully edit the current location, which is very fiddly. Some spinner edits would be cool, or failing that just the symbol free Google style coordinates: 50 50 19.2N, 12 12 30.1W?
That's it really, very nice app!

Re: Couple of queries
Hi,
Thanks for your interest in AlpineQuest and for posting here.
You can find a brief description about how geolocation works in AlpineQuest here.
Maybe that could be an nice evolution, I'll think about that.
A request as already been made to be able to split the text box in few ones for degs, mins and secs, however it won't allow copy/paste coordinates, so I have to figure how to keep this feature.
Anyway I will ensure that "50 50 19.2N, 12 12 30.1W" works for next version.
Thanks a lot for your feedback,
Don't hesitate to ask for any clarification,
Best regards

Yes, you're right. Another provider is used only if the GPS is deactivated or not available on the device. It won't change if no satellites are found.Geolocation: I have the location provider set to auto, but if it can't find satellites it doesn't seem to fall back to the network?

Yes. The search is actually quite permissive, you can use ":" instead of a degree symbol, or 'd' (unfortunately a space won't work, I'll change that). When you select the deg/min/sec format, the center location should be filled, so you may also change only the numbers and keep the other symbols.Searching locations: Is there any way of entering deg/min/sec coordinates without the degree symbol?

Re: Couple of queries
Version 1.3.3 is now on the market and offers a more permissive location search.
Let me know what you think about it.
