Is there any way to convert a GPX file (or it's imported version LDK) into a SET file.
Reason...
I have a GPX file of good pubs. I can import it to LDK and view their locations. I want to do a proximity alarm when I approach one.
As I understand it you can only do proximity alarms with .SET collections of waypopints, and I cannot find a way to export to .SET
I realise that AlpineQuest is not intended as a motoring tool (the clue is in the name!!!) but I was experimementing with this idea and came to a dead end.

David

Hi,
You must now display the waypoints first to create proximity alerts.
You can either display all your waypoints at once (click on the menu right of the "Waypoints" category) and select "Display all". Then, from the "Displayed landmarks" list you'll be able to create a set of proximity alerts.
Alternatively, you can convert your waypoints as a set: in the same waypoints category menu, select "Group as a set" and your waypoints will be converted in a set (.set file). Then you can display the set a create alerts.
Let me know if something isn't clear
Best regards

Re: Convert .GPX or .LDK to .SET
Sorry - it is probably me being thick but I cannot get this to work. I suspect that the problem is that my file does not appear in the 'Waypoints" section of the menu and so "Display all" and "Group as a set" do not apply to it. Here is what I do...
menu > Landmarks
Explore Landmarks
press Bars.gpx
Import
Display ... OK (everything is displayed)
---
menu > Landmarks
Displayed landmarks
Long press Bars.ldk
I don't see the option for proximity alerts - it's only present when i have a .set file displayed .. and, as I said, my gpx file does not appear in the location where I can Group it as a set
Any ideas??

Sorry for the delay I missed this one.
No problem. Here is the procedure:
menu > Landmarks
Explore Landmarks
press Bars.gpx
Import
Browse
Then use the menu at the right of the "Waypoints" category and you'll have "Group as a set".
Then display the set and you'll be able to create your alerts.
