[closed] Error thrown when browsing local files for offline maps

Post by wv638 »

Alpinequest 2.0.3 on a Sony M4 Aqua with android 6.0.1 (stock rom), throws an error when I try to browse file based maps. Specifically, the error is thrown when I enter a folder with a positive file count. There is no error when entering an empty folder.

The error is:

Code: Select all

Call: _doLoadFolder()
Class: cvg
Throws: java.lang.NumberFormatException
Message: Invalid long: ""
I tried uninstalling and re-installing Alpinequest, with no change in the result.

Hi and thanks for your message. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.
In order to be able to work on this error message could you please do an "error report" by following this process just after the error message appears : Main Menu --> More --> Report errors
Thanks a lot and sorry again.

I think I managed to send you the log file using the built-in interface that you pointed me too. Looking at the log file myself, I understood that the cause of the problem is probably a corrupted AQM atlas file on my SD-card. I renamed the existing AQM files to [...].AQM.disabled, and now the error is no longer thrown.
Next, I created a new atlas from scratch using MOBAC 2.0.0 beta 3, put that on my SD-card, and Alpinequest loads it just fine!

So the summary is: the source of the problem was a corrupt AQM file, and a consequence that you might be able to fix is that Alpinequest's browsing interface malfunctions if any corrupt AQM file is encountered. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your help!

Hi again and thanks for the report and update.
When browsing a folder with corrupted files, the application will display the error message you've seen, but should still load the non-corrupted maps (I just double checked and it seems fine).
However, the error message is a bit aggressive, so I've updated it with a more simple warning, giving the corrupted (and ignored) file name.

I've checked your logs and it seems that both of your maps were corrupted, maybe this is why you didn't see any map after displaying the folder.

Best regards

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, with one fixed and one broken AQM file in the same folder, the fixed one shows just fine, and the broken one causes the error. Thanks again!
