I've been using the paid-for version of AlpineQuest for several years and love it!
I like the fact that it is so feature-rich, but only tend to use a very and limited sub-set of the options it offers.
I basically use it to record hill walks that i do - I turn the "Track Recorder" on when I start, and turn it off when I finish. I then use Memory Map to view the tracks.
Problem I have it that the default file format for track is trk, and Memory Map only speaks gpx, so I need to change the format to gpx prior to saving.
My questions are:
1. is it possible to set the default file format for tracks to gpx?
2. It is possible to "reload" the saved (in trk format) tracks into AQ and then re-save them in gpx
many thanks in advance.

Re: Recorded tracks format
Hi and thanks for your support!
1. For performance reasons, the application will only save created items and recorded tracks in it's native format, you cannot change this.
However, after recording a new track, it's quite easy to export it as a GPX file on a computer. After stopping the tracker, the last recorded track is displayed in a tracker panel, just click on the menu dots, select "Export as..." and "GPX". After the export, click on the "Share" button to upload your GPX file on anything (Dropbox, Drive, etc...) or send it by email. There are more details here: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/t ... ded_tracks
2. Yes you can. There are various ways.
- If you also want to re-add them in the "Last recorded tracks" list, you can put them in the "/alpinequest/landmarks/Recorded tracks/" folder. From the "Last recorded tracks", you'll be able to export them as explained above.
- You can also put them in any folder on your device and using the app "Landmarks explorer" list and export them.
- From your device file explorer, or dropbox, or drive or anything, just click on a ".trk" file. AlpineQuest should be listed in the "Open with" apps list. Select it to start the app on the track.
Let me know if you have any additional question
Best regards
