[fixed] Map screen insensitivity

Post by adainis »

I have another issue with my Galaxy Tab tablet (model SM-T580). In map mode I have much difficulty getting a response to tapping the screen over a track point, or over the screen's center point. I appear to get a response showing the options boxes less the 10% of the time. However, the screen provides a very good response in all other occasions, and over all areas of the screen, so it would not appear to be the tablet's system fault.

I don't think that you are the only one who finds the waypoint / centre-point tap-selection a little inconsistent in AQ.

Hi,
Do you still have issue with the last 2.0.2c version?
I've increased the size of the click zone.

Thanks for your attention. I see no improvement. It is still almost totally unresponsive.

Ok bad news.
I just would like to confirm that you're making a single and fast tap on the screen center icon.
Also, please note that if you've a lot of items displayed on the map, the menu may time some time to appear (the app needs to compute what are the items displayed around the tap location).
Finally, could you make an error report from the application (main menu -> more -> Report errors) so I can check if there's anything special with your hardware.
Sorry about that
Best regards

Funny things! If I turn off the map display ( I am using USGS topo) the sensitivity to tapping improves drastically, to where it is almost as I would like it to be. If I then turn the map display back on, the good response continues. However, if I restart your program, then the response to tapping the center point, or a track, is again almost totally unresponsive. I have checked this several times. There does seem to be an unpredictable time delay between to device's ability to accept a tap, or a successive tap, and this can be somewhat confounding. If this delay is significant, especially in the case of a tap and a re-tap, then an indicator to the user might be helpful.
I hope this helps.

Hi again,
After facing this issue, when you see that it's almost totally unresponsive, can you make an error report from the app? (main menu -> more -> report error).
This will send the app logs, maybe there is something useful in them...
