[closed] Performance issues on LG G3

Post by Peat »

Hi,

I'm using AlpineQuest on the LG G3 and it's a great app which is continually surprising me with great undiscovered features. However, the performance of zooming and scrolling the map leaves something to be desired, particularly compared to how it is on my brother's Z1 compact. Scrolling and zooming the map is extremely choppy and laggy - it seems to update at about 2 frames per second. Changing the map display size makes no difference to the lagginess. I'm wondering if this could be due to the G3's higher screen resolution?

I realise that it might be difficult for you to do anything as you probably don't have the device I'm talking about, but I would be willing to put the time in to test possible improvements if you have any ideas.

Hi and thanks for your feedback.
I guess the screen resolution is not the only problem here, other high res devices like the nexus are working fine.
However the app uses a compatibility mode that may be a problem for some devices. The next update (a major update) will remove this mode, so it may be better. If not, I'll more time on this issue then.
Best regards
Do you like AlpineQuest ? Leave a small comment on Google Play !
