Announcing AlpineQuest 1.0.2

Post by Psyberia-Support »

AlpineQuest 1.0.2 has been released today on the market.

The main evolution of this version is the support of tracks recording.
Here is the complete list of enhancements:
  • Track recording: AlpineQuest can use the GPS or the Network location provider to record a track into a standard GPX file during a hike;
  • Route creation: it is now possible to create GPX routes using AlpineQuest when setting up a hike. It's also possible to add waypoints to an existing route (see important note below);
  • Cut and paste: cut and paste actions have been added on waypoints and GPX files in order to manage landmarks easier;
  • US customary system / Imperial units: it is possible to use these distance units in addition of the metric unit system;
  • GUI has been modified: controls are a bit bigger, focus information is displayed in a box, current location provider is displayed below the current coordinates;
  • A file called 'alpinequest.log' is created in the 'alpinequest' folder of the SD card when starting up the application. Information about map loading is logged in it;
  • Action "Quick save waypoint" has been added in the contextual menu in order to save a waypoint in 1 sec.;
  • GPX file loading has been improved.
Important note: AlpineQuest doesn't support all features of GPX standard. Using AlpineQuest to modify existing GPX files (like adding tracks or routes) created by other softwares will remove all features that are not supported (like descriptions, urls, etc.). Reading GPX file will not remove any data.

Thanks to all AlpineQuest users and buyers.
