Post by wildekarde »

Just recently found this app. Lovin it so far. As a GIS student Im curious how to use my maps from arcgis 10 with this app. Any advice? Not finding much in the way of info combining the two programs.

Hi,
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with this application. I guess it may be possible to export your map in a format used by MOBAC, and then create an AQM map for AlpineQuest.
Here is the process, using GDAL: viewtopic.php?p=3068#p3068.
I'm afraid I won't be able to help you more right now.

However we plan to add more input map format, so maybe one day it will be much easier.
Let me know if you have any comment, advise or remark.
Best regards

I use ArcGIS to create custom maps for hiking and would like to be able to use these maps as offline or stored maps for alpinequest....Or to be able to use the data i collect using alpinequest on my hikes for my custom maps...

For the second point, you can export your data from AlpineQuest in GPX or KML files, which should be readable by ArcGIS. For the first point, all I know is in my previous post...
