I am a full user. I have been using AlpineQuest for years. Have update 1.4.15
Just got a new Samsung Galaxy S5 phone with an EXTERNAL 64GB card for my maps.
I put my "old maps" onto the phone (created on Mobile Atlas Creator V1.8). I also added some new maps for my next trip. Total maps about 240 files and 900MB (I travel a lot).
When zooming in on the NEW maps I get:
"Failed to write AQM index:
FileNotFoundException"
However, the map does display. Same thing on "zoom out". Again, maps always display.
Looking at the files. There are 69 qty of ".IDX" files for some 150 qty ".AQM" files. The areas with the problems tend to NOT have ".IDX" files associated with them
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem 2.
When trying to create a new landmark, I get the following message"
"An error occurred.
Failed to save the file to 'K Jeju Island.gpx'.
Throws:java.io.FileNotFoundException
Message:/storage/extSdCard/alpinequest/landmarks/K Jeju Island.gpx: open failed: EACCES
(Permission denied)
Note that the landmarks are correctly displayed. I can NOT create NEW ones on the phone - but can on my PC and then download the new gpx file.
Any ideas what is wrong?

Re: Failed to write AQM index ERROR
Hi,
I think that both issues are related. It seems that the application doesn't have the permission to write on the external storage.
If you have Android 4.4, then external SD cards cannot be written anymore anywhere by applications (yes it's a shame).
You can either:
- Use your internal memory;
- Use a particular writable folder on your external SD: open the application settings, select the 'Storage device' setting and choose the writable folder on the external SD, it should be something like '/Android/data/psyberia.alpinequest/.....'. You'll have to move everything from the 'old' application folder to this one.
We have updated the online help about that: http://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/1.4/settings/storage
If you haven't Android 4.4 or if it still not working, let me know,
Best regards

Hi
We'll release a new version this day or tomorrow that will handle this problem in a better way.
Until then you can open the device settings, select 'Storage device' and choose your internal S4 memory (not read only).
Best regards
