[closed] Automatic disassembly of SD?

Post by Carusti »

At the precise moment I AlpineQuest installed on my Galaxy Note 2 ( android 4.3 ) the external micro SD started to behave abnormally, disassemble automatically. The notification for removing the SD appears to me almost every time I unlock the Dial. After two days, the SD has stopped working. The application works very well but I do not know if the same is responsible for this anomaly. thanks for the kind availability

Hi,
When storing lot of map data, the application can perform extensive writes on the memory (external SD or internal depending on the settings), and the smallest errors on the memory can be revealed (which may not be the case with a common usage).
It's very unlikely to be just an application issue, since data is correctly stored for thousand of users, but it may always be something linked to the application usage and your particular hardware.
Have you tried to run a SD memory check/repair process from your PC?
Right now there are little things to do, the only way to check the origin of your problem would be to make another try (either with the same reformatted card if possible, or with a new one). But I could understand if you don't want to make that test.
Best regards

I've tried formatting from slow pc but the problem is repeated. I then tried another micro sd and it seems that everything is working properly. I then verified that the problem is related directly to the Micro SD 32GB Sundisk that now seems to no longer work in any device. The curious thing is that the problem started with the installation of their software AlpineQuest. Perhaps it is as you say, obviously the micro SD was at the end of life and saving a lot of data in a dynamic way is definitely compromised.
