Hi,

Thanks for this very usefull app.

In winter mountain, the more important is to manage the avalanche risk. One parameter is the slope angle. On paper map, you can have some tool to measure the slope you will have by the ratio between distance and isoaltitude contour lines. I don't know if my poor english is comprehensible ...

It will be very interesting to have a tool that measure it on the app.

You're right that it could be a nice tool, maybe working together with the route creator, since the user will have to manually enter the points and altitudes.
I add it to the wanted features list and will try to do it soon.

Of course, you will have to do so. The only things it is complicated just looking the screen is the horizontal measure.

With that kind of feature, Alpine Quest can go ahead the other smartphone applications like STrail, Iphigénie, etc to go in moutain ...
I suppose that the easiest tool (for the user !!) is to mark a point on the map, move it to the desired point, validate, assign altitude. And do the same for the other point.

As it is for very short distance on the earth, you can use flat earth approximation, no ?

Yes something like that would be great...
And yes approximating the area as flat is fine.
