[fixed] Memory Map QCT Error on Galaxy S3

Hi, the QCT maps appear to load fine on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but I always get an error box with this message :

Call: stream.moveTo
In: a
Throws: java.io.IOException
Message: bytecount <0: -1148877688

Hi and thanks for using AlpineQuest,
This error can happen in these cases:
- Your map is bigger than 2GB. Some versions of Android cannot handle files bigger than this limit. The data stored after this limit cannot be read and will be missing (blank tile + error message);
- Your map hasn't been properly copied to your SD card (ie the cable was removed before the end of the copy), so the application fails to read parts at the end that are missing. You can try to remove it and copy it again.

Hi,

My map is about 3GB and is located on the phone internal memory (/mnt/sdcard). I removed it and copy it again. Same error.
I copy a smaller map (less than 1GB) in the same location. Same Error.

AlpineQuest doesn't find my maps on the external SD card (/mnt/ExtSdCard).

Earlier, I tried the Memory Map for Android app with the same maps in the same location. No error...

I had a closer look at the function that originates the error and found a possible source.
I made a correction that will be available in version 1.3.5 (available in fews days). It should fix the issue, let me know if it doesn't.

Concerning your SD card location, you can specify the path '/mnt/ExtSdCard/' in the AlpineQuest preferences, under the 'SD card path' entry to use your external SD card as storage (you'll need to restart the application). Note that all your cached data will be lost (unless you move the '/alpinequest/' folder manually).

The new version (1.3.5) works fine, without error. Thank you!
This version also detect my external SD Card (/mnt/ExtSdCard/) by default (with the path empty). I don't know why, but it's perfect for me.

Concerning the SD card path, I have added "/mnt/ExtSdCard/" to the automatic detect folder list thanks to your post.
