[done] Screen lock

Post by Sam »

Dear AQ-Team,
I'm using AQ since some time now and have to thank you for your great work.
But there is one thing I would really wish myself. I would like some kind of screen lock for input while the screen is on.
I'm using a waterproof smartphone for biking. The problem is that rain simulates touch input which is quite...funny...and stupid  . It would be great if the screen could be on while input is disabled.

I hope you know what I mean. Is something like that possible?

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi and thanks for your feedback.
OK I think I have understand your need. I'll try to add this feature.
Do you think that a long press on a button to unlock the screen could be fine? (or even a long press could be simulated by the rain?).
The Menu button would have been good, but newer devices don't have this button... I'll think about that.
Best regards

I think long pressing one of the buttons should be ok. Rain is very hecitcally.

But pressing the power button would probably the best.

Thank you very much...

Hi,
I have added this feature in AlpineQuest 1.3.4 available right now on Google Play.
You just have to use any hardware button to disable the lock. Let me know if it does the job, otherwise I can tweak it in the next version.
Best regards

Just tried it (without rain)...works fine. Thank you very much :!:

By the way if you would add support for vector maps, just like OSMAnd, I would be very happy to buy the app again and again and ... ;) .

Thanks for the feedback.
Concerning the vector maps, that would be great yes, maybe one day, but I can't tell you when.
Best regards
