I would like to have the option to edit a recorded route(start point/position 1) and to have some way to prevent accidental removal of saved routes.

Hi Agogov,
You can edit existing tracks: click on a displayed track on the map, on its name and select "Edit point".
And the best way not to loose any data is to make backups (copies) of your data: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/faq ... up_my_data
