[resolved] Lost all my tracks?
[resolved] Lost all my tracks?
Hello,
I think after upgrading to Android11 I lost all my tracks.
I checked the SD but the folder seems empty, whereas in the Android/data folder, which the application has been using after some changes (for some reasons it cannot use SD anymore), has only the last tracks (since 4/5 months ago).
Please let me know, thanks a lot.

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Hi,
Please open the app settings and check the "Storage device" preference. Check where you have some data stored (even if it's "locked").
Then use a file manager compatible with Android 11 to have a look in that (those) folders. If you don't use an Android 11 compatible file manager, your folders will be displayed as empty. You can move all your tracks in the current app folder so they'll be available again in the app.

Hi and thanks for your kind answer.
May you please better explain "Then use a file manager compatible with Android 11"?
I tried 4 different apps but I always see the folder as empty..
Thanks a lot!

Re: Lost all my tracks?
P.S.: the path I cannot access anymore (and looks empty inside) is
/storage/8085-181a/Android/data/psyberia.alpinequest.full/files/
/storage/8085-181a/Android/data/psyberia.alpinequest.full/files/
Re: Lost all my tracks?
Update: I installed Total Commander app and I can now access
/storage/8085-181A/Android/data/
folder, but there is nothing inside, apart from the
com.ghisler.android.TotalCommander
folder itself...

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Hi again,
At the bottom of the link I gave previously there are some file manager names you can use.
Alternatively you can plug your device on a computer and use your PC file manager, it will have access to all files.
You can also make an error report from the app (main menu -> more -> report errors) so I can have more information on the folder names of your device.

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Hello,
I sent you an error report, thank you.
I tried also the 2 file explorers in the post (“Cx File Explorer” or “X-plore File Manager”) but still nothing in the folder.
Also connecting my phone via usb to the laptop, nothing in the folder...

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Hi again,
So unfortunately, if all file managers report "/storage/8085-181A/Android/data/" as being empty, and the app doesn't report you any stored data at this location, I guess it has been wiped out.
Note the application doesn't have any right in this folder, it can only access file inside its dedicated sub-folder "/storage/8085-181A/Android/data/psyberia.alpinequest.net/files/".

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Hello,
I managed to access the folder
/storage/8085-181A/Android/data/
by connecting the sd card to a Linux pc (on windows it is shown as empty)!
Can you please explain what to copy/where now?
I tried to copy the tracks but the app doesn't load them (maybe something is missing?).
Tx a lot!

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Ok great,
You can copy them inside the current recorded tracks folder of the app, ie "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/psyberia.alpinequest.full/files/landmarks/Recorded tracks/".
Then open the placemarks explorer, browse this folder and you'll see all of them.

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Thanks for your reply.
How can I display ALL the recorded tracks on the map?
I don't want to open and click "show" on each of them (i've got hundrends)!
Thanks a lot!

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Click on the 3-dots menu right of the "Tracks" category header. Then select display all.
See online help about this here: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/ ... _all_items

Re: Lost all my tracks?
Thanks a lot, however I got some errors:
"Failed to load 'track_202*.trk' EOFException (206 locations are missing!).
Should I copy something else?
Thanks,
Michele

Re: Lost all my tracks?
It's just that one of your track file (track_202*.trk) is corrupted, with 206 locations missing.
But all other tracks are displayed.
