Hi, François.
Is it possible to add a Screensaver item in Explorer mode ?
Right here:
I think this would be appropriate, because in this case you can, conditionally speaking, "turn off the screen" and save battery power when moving.
And if necessary, simply press the screen and turn it on.
I know there is a special setting under Long-press map action, but what if, for example, I select Display map only, but also want to have Screensaver working in Explorer mode?

Screensaver in Explorer mode
Re: Screensaver in Explorer mode
Hi François,
I cannot find screensaver in the manual.
From what i remember to make the best use of it.
1 put screensaver on top of the list in custom items. Then it can be activated by long tapping left main menu button.
2 A.Q. settings. Screen allways on in mapview.
3 phone settings. Display. Screen timeout as low as possible. (15sec on my phone)
You can now by long pressing left main menu button activate the screensaver. The screen will turn out after 15 seconds. Then dubbeltap the screen an A.Q. mapview is activated.
No fingerprint needed on the back of your phone to activat A.Q. + prudent for batterylife.
Quite handy when the phone is mounted on a bike.
Friendly greetings
Jos

Hi Alex,
Ok I'll add a screensaver entry in the explorer mode menu.
Jos, I think you also use a specific app to turn the screen on by double tapping the screen, do I remember correctly?

Hi François,
I use the A.Q. in app screensaver.
When everything is set right, then you can see a black screen with some background light. The screen turns pich black after 15 seconds (screen time out phone settings). So when everything is set right one can turn the screen off (after 15 sec.) by long tapping main menu button and one can turn the screen on by dubbeltapping anywhere on the screen. Anyhow I remember distnictly it was meant to be like that. When it's raining, phone in plastick cover, it is handy to start A.Q. from backactivity.
I thought to bring it up because it is not intuitive nor in the manual.
Friendly greetings
Jos

Re: Screensaver in Explorer mode
Hi François.
Thank you for adding a screensaver entry in the explorer mode menu.
I tried it out today. I think the screensaver entry should be moved up, i.e. placed where it is on my picture in the first post of this thread. If the screensaver entry is positioned as it is now in the updated version of the app, then you need to make one more extra movement after swiping up the screen (or clicking on the Gear icon). After single swiping up the screen only 4 positions (quick waypoint, Waypoint, Picture waypoint and Settings) are visible immediately. I think screensaver entry is an important position enough to put it in the same place as these four positions.
This is my personal impression, I may be wrong and the current position is the correct one.
It would be good to hear the other users' viewpoints.

Re: Screensaver in Explorer mode
Yes Alex I understand, but the items are ordered so the first group contains the items relative to the currently selected section ("Real time position" in your example), then after "Explorer mode" all items that are displayed in all the sections, so I cannot put it in the "Real time position" group... At best it would be before "Lock screen" (instead of after), but I'm not sure it is more used, because a lot of peoples requested the lock screen features (especially so that the rain drops don't click on the screen)...

Thank you, François.
I got your point. Let's leave it as it is, then.
