When "force update local data" is active, the colored squares on the map should look different.
I'm not sure exactly how different. But at least there should be some indication on the map that something else is going on...

There are already 3 colors, I think adding more of them would be more disturbing that anything else.
I think you're the only user to use both feature at the same time anyway...
