I do lots of historic battlefield hikes and I'm looking for a GPS app like Alpine to record the hikes which we use to analyze afterwards. As we do lots of driving around, then get out and hike, get back in the car to a new place and get out and hike again. Is there a way in AlpineQuest for it to determine when we're driving vs. hiking, without turning off the record function? If not, is there a manual way to tell the app when we're driving vs. hiking? We like a record of the car route as well as the hiking route.
Thanks.

Re: Car to Route, Hike, then Car to Route 2, Hike...
Hi and thanks for your interest in our application,
There is no proper way to determine this, however if you record the complete journey, you should easily see when you started walking or driving by using the speed profile.
In a few steps, you can then split your whole record into walking/driving section, and for example allocate difference colors.
Hope it helps
Best regards
