Hello,
I wanted to propose a small improvement: change the appearance of the GPS button in the main menu when recording is started.
It would allow to make easily the difference between GPS on and GPS+recording on.

How about changing its colour to red, which is universally recognised as "record"?

Thanks Yemble for this suggestion, I like it. I think it's less confusing as having another different icon (the icon already changes when you move the center location away from your current GPS location).
However I've used a blue color while tracking, because I find the red too much like "there is something wrong". Blue is also the color of the recorded track on the map.

Yes of course, red is also universally recognised as an error condition

Blue is just fine with me

Another improvement would be to make the button blink or look different when the gps is not locked (also when not recording).
